As a child, I always knew I wanted to work in a bank but, while studying Business and Finance at College, I did work experience at Ramsay Brown and Partners and enjoyed it so much that I decided to become an accountant instead. I left college and worked for a medium firm of accountants in their small business department for two years and studied for my AAT exams. I rejoined Ramsay Brown and Partners in April 1996 in the accounts department and began my training as a Chartered Accountant in 1997. In September 2000, I qualified and moved into the tax department. After three years as a Tax Manager, I became a partner in 2003.
I write for GP and Medeconomics and I lecture to GPs and trainee GPs. I am also a co-author of “Understanding Practice Accounts”.
I am married to Declan and we have a son, Ben. Working full-time and being a mum to a toddler doesn’t leave much time for hobbies but, the time I do have is spent with family and friends and my camera capturing those memories!
