I joined Ramsay Brown and Partners in May 2017. I graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in French, Spanish and Portuguese and, after working in the music industry managing pop bands, I decided to train as a Chartered Accountant.
After qualifying in January 2014 from HW Fisher, I moved to BDO LLP to work in Financial Services audit, where I had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of clients, as well as being involved in other aspects of the business. I helped to develop and lead training programmes nationwide, as well as piloting new technology and software for the international BDO network and acting as technical liaison on FRS 102 for the Financial Services department.
During this time, I also won a competition held by the ICAEW as the leading Chartered Accountant under 30 and had the opportunity to represent both the ICAEW and Chartered Accountants Worldwide at the One Young World summit in Ottawa in 2016.
Despite trading in the recording studios of the music industry for spreadsheets and calculators, I still have a passion for music. I play the guitar and enjoy going to concerts regularly and I have a keen interest in film and am a member of the BFI. I also am a governor and member of the audit committee of a 6th form college, which I thoroughly enjoy and find extremely rewarding. I also enjoy both watching and playing sport and can often be found in my spare time at Barry’s Bootcamp!
